It is in amazing condition. I can’t find much information or history about this man but I have a little. Apart from a polish the razor has been left untouched. I have not honed the razor or taken the scales apart. The scales seem to be made of tortoise, the engravings are deep. There are no cracks or chips. On the scales are various numbers and letters, I am not sure what the numbers mean but I am guessing the letters on the scales are the initials of the original owner.
All I can currently find about Mr Thomas Reynor is that he worked in various places in Dublin. Addresses include 62 Grafton street, and corn market. I was able to date the razor back to 1877 thanks to an old newspaper advert in the “irish times” Newspaper link.
It’s a really rare razor, not often you can meet old Ireland razor.
