A beautifully restored le grelot from thiers-issard in France. According to the Cutlery trademark registration office in France, the first trademark for Le Grelot was in 1912. The company like many others made razors for others as well, and won a few “Golden Medals” Medaille d’or in France. These razors are particularly renowned for their excellence. They have never let me down.
I made these new scales out of pistachio wood which I thought had a classy rustic look to it. I did not buff the wood to a high shine because I really thought they suited this ruffer rustic look. The spacer is made of purple heart wood which sports a very dark purple colour. The blade is outstanding and it just shaves amazingly.
